Compared to previous year, the number of cattle has diminished by 2.0 thsd or by 0.5%, of pigs – by 7.2 thsd or by 1.9%. But the number of goats and sheep has grown – by 3.6% or by 5.4% and by 0.3 thsd or by 2.5%, respectively.

Latvian agricultural exports amounted LVL 636 mln in 2009

The total value of Latvian agricultural exports last year compared with 2008 fell from LVL 711 million to LVL 636 million, reporters were informed today by Inguna Gulbe, director of the Latvian Agrarian Economy Institute’s Agricultural Market Promotion Center. The fall in exports was 10.5%, while that of imports was 21.1%.
